You've never said it that way? People around here get stoned (with rocks, not weed) if the pronounce it adi-das .

This year on Radio Le Mans if the first I have heard the European pronunciation. Looking forward to trying it out next time I go to an Atlanta shoe store!

Most people I know in the U.K. pronounce it adi-das also. I've only met a hand full of people who call it a-DE-das. So your not alone.

It's a German brand. So you pronounce it using German pronunciation.

I have to say I'm a bit confused? How were you saying it? And how is it really pronounced? Ah-dee-das?

Warum? I pronounce Volkswagen as if it were English. Ditto Audi. I pronounce Peugeot as if it were Pewjoe unless I have any need to say it en français. Škoda is Skoda as far as I'm concerned.
I'm quite shameless about all this.

Different strokes. There are no laws that say you should.

The brand is named after the founder Adolf "Adi" Dassler .
